Journal of Advances in Oral Health (JAOH) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, half-yearly journal publishing under the auspices of the Inderprastha Dental College and Hospital. As soon as the Article is accepted for Publication, it will be placed in “Ahead of Print” on the journal page with the aim of rapid and better knowledge dissemination. Open Access to its contents is likely to attract more readers, along with citations to the articles published in JAOH.
Manuscripts must be prepared under the “Uniform requirements” of the Journal of Advances in Oral Health as per guidelines by the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (Updated December 2019). The uniform requirements and specific requirements of are mentioned below. Before the submission of a manuscript, authors are requested to refer to the author guidelines, available on the journal website or directly from the manuscript submission website of the Manuscript Peer-Review Process (MPRP).
Aim and Scope
The primary aim of the Journal of Advances in Oral Health is to advance the fields of dental and oral health through the publication of high-impact research. The journal welcomes a wide range of submissions, including Original Articles, Review Articles, Short Communications, Case Reports, and Editorials.
The scope is comprehensive, covering all aspects of oral health. Submissions are encouraged in the following areas:
- Restorative and Material Sciences: Conservative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Dental Materials.
- Surgical and Medical Sciences: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Oral Oncology, and Oral Pathology.

Journal Ethics

Creative Commons Licensing
The journal is an open-access (OA) journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International . This license allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under identical terms. This license allows authors to grant certain permissions to others while retaining certain rights for themselves.Repository Policy
Authors can deposit their published articles in any repository. Once the article has been published in the journal, authors are allowed and encouraged to submit their content online (such as, in institutional repositories or on their website), it may lead to more frequent citations of published work and productive conversations, consequently helping to promote the accessibility and reproducibility of research findings for others.
Copyright of the published material
The authors provide the journal with a signed copy of the consent declaration form, acknowledging that they are responsible for releasing this work to the publisher on behalf of all other co-authors. However, the author retains the copyright of the content and transfers all the licensing and publishing rights to the publisher. The author grants the publisher the only right to commercially utilize the article. For the duration of the copyright's full legal term, they provide the publisher with exclusive rights and license to publish. This transfer of publication rights covers the non-exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, translations, photographic reproductions, microform, electronic form (offline, online), or any other reproduction of a similar nature.
Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism is the redundant reuse of your work, “use another’s production without crediting the sources,” or “present as a new and original idea or product derived from an existing source.” The JAOH also considers “self-plagiarism” as a form of plagiarism. When an author uses a passage from their previously published work without properly citing it in their recently submitted manuscript, that is an example of self-plagiarism. iThenticate software is provided to our editor and reviewers as a part of our manuscript submission system.

Advertising Policy
The Journal retains the discretion to decline any advertisement that does not meet the Journal's advertising policy.
- Advertisements will not be accepted if they are indecent, offensive, or discriminatory based on personal, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or religious grounds, whether in text or artwork.
- The Journal will not accept advertisements for products or services known to be harmful to health, such as tobacco and alcohol.
- Product advertorials will not allow any treatment-specific or drug-specific campaigns to target specific articles related to the advertised products.
Ahead of Print Policy
Articles published online under the “Ahead of Print” model is considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Innovative Publication has a policy that changes WILL NOT be made after the publication of an article unless an accepted procedure for making corrections to the scientific record is followed.
Revenue Sources
Journal of Advances in Oral Health (JAOH) is a self-financed open-access journal, published in both online and print versions. Article publication charges levied on authors are the only source of income that is utilized in maintaining the administrative and print charges. Also, the very least part of revenue comes from advertisements and subscriptions.
The APC is based on an adjusted scale, providing reduced rates for low- and middle-income countries on the publication charges. Operating expense, including the cost of web presence, print version, pre-press preparations, and staff salaries, is supported by the above-mentioned resources.
